CodeTap is the product of more than two decades of entrepreneurial experience from founder Chase Powell, who recognized the shift toward online business early—first in real estate, then in digital marketing, and now in artificial intelligence. CodeTap exists because Chase saw a hard truth: agencies and businesses that fail to adapt to AI are at risk of being left behind. CodeTap is his answer to that challenge.

Chase's career began unexpectedly in real estate in 2003 in Lubbock, Texas. Long before the industry saw the coming wave of online business, Chase recognized the shift and taught himself the digital tools that would soon reshape everything. That early insight led him into SEO in 2004 and set him on a path of building digital-first companies throughout West Texas.

In 2006, he launched SEO Web Concepts in Lubbock, which later evolved into Lubbock Web Guy and eventually Web Guy Group. Early on, he realized most small businesses didn't even know what "SEO" meant—so he focused on translating complexity into practical growth systems. His work started in real estate but quickly expanded to small businesses across West Texas and beyond. Chase grew his companies through networking, referrals, and relationships rather than aggressive sales tactics, building a reputation for results and trust.

After nearly two decades in digital marketing, he exited the agency world in 2023. But by 2025, AI had accelerated at a pace that demanded a new kind of leadership. Chase noticed something many were afraid to admit: most agencies and business owners knew AI was coming but had no idea how to adapt. That fear—shared by him and by the clients he had served for years—sparked the creation of CodeTap AI in August 2025.

Today, CodeTap exists to help businesses understand and adopt AI in a practical, grounded, and business-first way. Alongside CodeTap, Chase launched The Agency Guild, a passion project designed to help traditional agencies modernize and survive the rapid transformation of their industry. Instead of leaving agency owners to navigate AI alone, The Agency Guild brings them together to learn, share, and build the next generation of agency operations.

Chase's guiding philosophy reflects one of his favorite Zig Ziglar principles: "You can have everything in life you want, if you will just help enough other people get what they want."
